Lessons from 30,000 feet

You know when you’re flying somewhere, and the flight crew gives that instructional briefing that everyone ignores? I think there’s a life lesson in there.
In the event of an emergency, those creepy oxygen masks will fall from the ceiling. Ignoring my germ-phobic tendencies, I’d have to put that on my face to keep breathing. And, according to instructions, I should install my own mask before helping others around me.
Well, okay, that makes sense, because if I can’t breathe, I won’t be of much help to others.
Apply that to your own life: if you don’t take care of yourself first, you’ve got nothing left to care for others. It’s simple, but I know I’m really bad at taking care of myself first, and I’m going to try to get better at it!
