It’s worth a nickel

i was driving on i-84 today and i passed a guy driving a toyota prius. because i like watching people, and because i’m interested in hybrid cars, i always try to scope out who’s driving a prius when i see one go by.

this one had a guy huffing and puffing on a cigarette and flicking his ashes out the window.

there’s a certain sense of irony in someone caring enough about the earth to drive a hybrid vehicle, yet not caring enough about the earth to refrain from flicking his ashes all over connecticut, and not caring enough about his own health to stop slowly poisoning himself.

this morning, on my way to work, i saw something amazing. i was driving on route 376 in poughkeepsie, alongside a woman who was simultaneously smoking, talking on her cell phone, applying makeup and oh yeah … driving.

i’m both horrified and impressed. first of all, how can she physically do all that? secondly, how many people does she kill during an average trip to work?
