So, I wasn’t a huge fan of Cablevision.

I switched to Verizon FiOS last fall, with just a few misgivings. Ultimately, though, I felt that it gave me more options, including a number of channels I didn’t have. One of my biggest misgivings was Cablevision’s chokehold on MSNBC, home to my favorite morning show, Morning Joe. Cablevision had an exclusive licensing agreement with MSNBC in my area, meaning I’d have to find something else to satisfy my morning news cravings.

(And there was no way in hell I was going back to the networks, whose morning shows are more childish entertainment filled with people who can barely read [I'm looking at you, Ann Curry!] than they are with news.)

So I spent a few months with BBC World, which was great. And I’ll still head back to them from time to time, because it’s a balance of coverage you just don’t get with the US-based networks.

But MSNBC is back! Sometime over the weekend, MSNBC appeared in my lineup, and I got to watch/listen to most of Morning Joe this morning. I am so excited to see those familiar faces. If you haven’t watched Joe, you should give him a try. It’s a great mix of liberals, conservatives, progressives, and others having a great discussion on the news. They don’t always agree, and they don’t really mind that.

Mika, Joe… I’ve missed you. I’m so glad we’re back together.
