Our words today are totally unrelated, but fun.

Ziemlich means rather.

Schneiden Sie das Haar ziemlich kurz. Cut my hair rather short.

And gefallen means to like somebody or something. It is constructed like the English verb to please.

Der Film hat mir gefallen. I liked the movie. (Literally: The movie has pleased me.)

Er gefällt mir. I like him. (Literally: He is pleasing to me.)

Meine Deutschklasse gefällt mir. I like my German class. (Literally: My German class is pleasing to me.)
