A couple of months ago, I wrote about my devastating tragedy with Pottery Barn.

Okay, maybe it wasn’t devastating, or a tragedy in the truest sense of the word. But it was pretty serious to me.

The best part is, Pottery Barn really came to my rescue.  A few days after my letter was received by the CEO of Williams-Sonoma (Pottery Barn’s parent), I got a phone call from Vicki McWilliams, Senior Vice President of Stores.

Vicki and I are best friends now.

She just wanted to let me know that she was working with Stacey, their National Director for Outlet Stores, to find a couple of mahogany side tables for me. She gave me Stacey’s mobile number, and said she’d be getting in touch with me later that day.

She was true to her word: I got a call from Stacey later that day. She was still tracking things down at that point, but within 24 hours she confirmed that she had two tables, shipping to me from their outlet location near San Diego, CA. (Bonus: I paid outlet prices instead of full retail, and at the end of the day I practically got one for free.)

About five days later, the tables arrived at my doorstep, complete with a handwritten note from the outlet store manager, thanking me for my purchase! They’re gorgeous, and I’m a bigger fan of Pottery Barn than ever before.

my gorgeous table (I know, I need new lamps. Don’t get me started.)

I’m just saying, Cablevision could learn a thing or two about customer service from Pottery Barn.

number one – bravo for vicki for taking care of the situation for this idiot

number two – if getting two side tables are your ‘devastating tragedy’ you are truly pathetic

Wow, Davis… apparently my sarcasm didn’t convey well on my blog. Sorry you wasted your time reading and commenting on it. Feel free to read about other idiots elsewhere instead of visiting me again.

I’ve known Vicki McWilliams for years. She is the real deal, both in her career as a vice president of a large retailer and in her personal life. It is a honor to know her.

I’ve also known Vicki for years. I’m not surprised that she was so responsive to anyone’s plight, be it large or small. Pottery Barn is fortunate to have her at the helm. CG
