I discovered this little gem recently: Wordnick.

It’s a dictionary; nothing so amazing in that, but it aggregates definitions and uses in context from a variety of sources.

Even better, it pulls in related tweets from Twitter, related images from Flickr, shows you statistics on its use, and gives etymologies too.

One of my favorite things is the simplicity of its URL structure: http://www.wordnick.com/words/what-i-am-looking-for-goes-here. That way, I can easily type out a search without wasting time on the home page. (If I’m on my own laptop, I use a Firefox quick search).
